ISCES Founder's Vision Because of the sentiments expressed by certain existing associations in the discipline of computational mechanics, concerning the formation of ISCES, it has been decided that ISCES will, henceforth, cease its plans to have a formal structure. Thus, there will be no officers of ISCES; no elections; no formal meetings; and no formal activities. ISCES will not sponsor any events, nor will it seek any sponsorship. It will cooperate fully with all existing societies and associations, in promoting scholarly pursuits in computational mechanics, mathematics, engineering and the sciences. ISCES will simply be an informal scientific society, solely with a presence on the Web. Its members can post, at this web-site, any items of interest such as: (i) meetings that they are organizing; (ii) links to their web-sites; (iii) news of general interest to the community of computational engineering & science; (iv) extraordinary discoveries in research that any member wishes to share, etc. This web-site will also publish scholarly articles on research of contemporary interest, from time to time. As before, there are no membership dues.
